CREEDE — Creede Native, Erma (Slaght) Barrett, 90, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. Two daughters Ernestine Allison of Montrose and Vicki Gurdis of Ouray and one sister Mary Elliott of South Fork survive her. The date for the memorial service hasn’t been announced.

Preceding her in death was her husband of many years, Ernie Barrett; parents Nat and Julia Slaght; brothers, Clarence (Kayo), Henry, Charles and sisters, Peggy and Edna.

The Slaght family was one of the early families in Creede. Mary Elliott is the last living member of the family.
