DEL NORTE—Long time Del Norte resident Nafie Anderson, 90, loving mother, grandmother and sister-in-law died under hospice care July 1, 2012 at her home in Del Norte.
She was born Oct. 22, 1921 in Garden City, Kan., to Jess and Margaret Macroon Malouff. Nafie married Robert Earl Anderson and her preceded her in death in 1997.
Nafie was a homemaker and spent many hours donating her time to assisting with weddings, funerals and church activities. She was a member of the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church iand the Altar Society in Del Norte. Nafie loved going to church and helping others.
She would ride her bike around town running errands and going to see people, and she loved to bake. She made cinnamon rolls for nearly everyone she came in contact with.
Her parents; her husband; her infant brother, Phillip Malouff; her brother, Phillip Malouff; her sisters, Mary Malouff, Sara Malouff and Lena Malouff; and her granddaughter, Gina Anderson, preceded her in death
Survivors include by her children, George Anderson, Phillip Anderson, Mike Anderson and Jessie Anderson, all of Del Norte; her grandchildren, Jullian, Jesse, Candice, Nicole Sanchez, and Vernon Anderson and Mary (Charlie) of Colorado Springs; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Mariah, Phillip and Vicki; as well as her sister-in-law Pauline Malouff of Sun Lakes, Ariz. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Vigil with Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, July 5, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, at the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte. Committal services will follow in the Del Norte Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Rogers Family Mortuary in her memory.
