Demolition has begun at Ski Hi Complex

MONTE VISTA – After years of perseverance by the communities of the Valley, Alcon Construction, Inc. in conjunction with the City of Monte Vista, began demolition activities at the Ski Hi Convention Complex July 20, 2020.


The construction activities will require the closure of Sherman Avenue on Thursday, July 23. The street closure will begin at 2 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m.


The closure will be from Ski Hi Trail to the COOP Road (County Road 2E). Local traffic will be allowed to access properties both East and West from County Road 2E and all other traffic will be detoured to County Road 3E.


Absolutely no traffic will be allowed from the Ski Hi Trail to 2360 Sherman during closure times. Any properties near 2360 Sherman or including 2360 Sherman will need to access from County Road 2E.
Traffic control will be in place to help directing people to their residences. Non-residents will not be allowed anywhere near the construction activities and there will be no on street parking allowed within 1000 feet of Closure area.
